Annie Hodgkins was born and raised in Virginia, where she received her Bachelors of Fine Art degree in photography at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019. She graduated with a Masters of Fine Art in Photography at the University of Iowa in 2023, with a minor in sculpture.

Hodgkins' work is multimedia, utilizing sculpture, installation, and photography as a vehicle to convey her concepts. Her work navigates themes of survival and the various facets of women’s work.
